Individual Career Counselling

Individual Career counselling is offered as a one-to-one service to students in grade X to XII. The counselling is conducted at the ceter (Al Fanar Clinic). The program covers assessment of aptitudes and interests through psychometric tests and counselling interactions, exploration of careers, development of career options & educational paths.

 

Duration:

The program is composed of about 3 sessions of approximately 2 hours each. One can decide to combine first two sessions in a single day or opt to keep all three sessions on different days (based on the availability of Counsellor). Career psychologists meets parents for about 30 minutes at the beginning of first session and at the end of 3rd session.

 

Specific Outcomes:

The goal of counselling is to equip the individual with skills and information to complete career developmental tasks successfully. After the individual career counselling the participants would be able to:

 

  • Clearly identify their career aptitudes and interests

  • know the steps to make career decision systematically

  • Learn about various careers, eligibility, and qualifications

  • Learn about how to gather information related career planning

  • Develop career options best suited to their aptitudes and interests

  • Develop educational path related to their career options.

 

Career Psychologist analyses individual's hobbies, accomplishments and academic history apart from administering psychometric tests to facilitate self-understanding and developing personal profile of the individual. Parents are brought into the decision making process and a healthy environment is created for the career development of the individual. A detailed career report is prepared and send to the student within a week of the counselling.
